Andromeda
Ἀνδρομέδα
An Ethiopian princess nearly sacrificed to a monster for her mother's vanity.
When her mother Cassiopeia boasted of being more beautiful than the sea nymphs, Poseidon sent the sea monster Cetus.
An oracle declared the princess must be offered to save the kingdom, and she was chained to a rock by the sea.
Perseus, passing by with the head of Medusa, turned the monster to stone, freed her, and made her his wife.
