Nike
Νίκη · Roman 빅토리아 (Victoria)
Victory itself, made divine.
She is pictured winged, alighting beside the victor.
The Winged Victory of Samothrace in the Louvre, though headless, is one of the most famous statues in Western sculpture.
In 1971 an American shoe company chose her name. The swoosh in its logo was drawn from Nike's wing.
