The crab Hera sent while Heracles fought the Hydra. It nipped his foot and was promptly crushed.

Hera, touched by its effort, raised it into the sky — a bit player who accomplished nothing, made a constellation.

The hazy patch at its center is the Praesepe cluster, known as the Beehive.
