gigantic · giant
enormous
Today this word meansImmensely large.
From the Gigantes, the race of giants born of Gaia.
Their war against Olympus was the Gigantomachy — unwinnable by gods alone, which is why Heracles had to be called in.
Worth noting
A different race from the Titans. English speakers mix titan and giant so freely that the two are constantly lumped together.
