The seven daughters of Atlas, turned to stars. Only six are visible, so stories of the "lost sister" appear all over the world.

In Japan the cluster is called Subaru — the six stars in the car brand's logo are exactly this.

In Korea it is called jomsaengi-byeol, and there was a custom, jomsaengi-bogi, of reading the year's harvest from its appearance.
