Καλλιόπη
First of the nine Muses. Mother of Orpheus.
Her name means "beautiful voice." She presided over epic poetry and eloquence.
She is the Muse Homer calls upon to sing at the opening of the Iliad and the Odyssey.
And where did her son Orpheus get his gift with the lyre? This lineage is the answer.
