Chimera
Χίμαιρα
A monster fusing lion, goat, and snake in one body.
Lion in front, a goat's head on its back, a snake for a tail — and it breathed fire.
The hero Bellerophon killed it by attacking from above on Pegasus.
Because it stitched together things that could not exist, the English word chimera came to mean "a wild fantasy."
