Ἐρυσίχθων

The king cursed with endless hunger for cutting down Demeter's tree.

He felled an oak in Demeter's sacred grove, brushing aside everyone who begged him to stop.

The goddess sent the spirit of Famine to settle inside him, and the more he ate, the hungrier he grew.

He devoured his fortune, sold his own daughter, and in the end ate his own flesh.
