Europa
Εὐρώπη
A Phoenician princess carried off by Zeus in the form of a bull.
Picking flowers on the beach, she approached a gentle white bull — and when she climbed onto its back, it plunged into the sea.
She reached Crete and bore sons including Minos, founding the royal line of Cretan civilization.
Her name became the name of the continent of Europe — and of Jupiter's moon Europa.
