Hephaestus

Ἥφαιστος · Roman 불카누스 (Vulcan)

The smith god who made every weapon and treasure on Olympus.

He was lame — some say he was thrown from Olympus because of it, others that the fall is what lamed him.

The shield of Achilles, the scepter of Zeus, the winged sandals of Hermes — all came out of his forge.

He is the only god on Olympus who earned his place through labor. Neither handsome nor beloved, yet no one could do without his work.
