Phrixus & Helle
Φρίξος, Ἕλλη
The siblings who fled on a flying ram.
About to be sacrificed through their stepmother's scheming, they were swept into the sky by a golden ram their mother sent.
Along the way Helle fell into the sea, and that stretch of water was named the Hellespont — today's Dardanelles.
Phrixus reached Colchis and sacrificed the ram; its remaining hide became the Golden Fleece.
