Jason
Ἰάσων
The captain who loaded a ship with heroes and set sail.
To reclaim his stolen throne, he was ordered to bring back the Golden Fleece.
Heroes including Heracles and Orpheus gathered aboard the ship Argo — the Argonauts.
With the help of Medea, princess of Colchis, he won the fleece; but he later betrayed her, and paid a terrible price.
