The king who gave his name to a nation and his son to the sky.
The name Troy comes from this king, and Ilion from his son Ilus. The two names that make up the Iliad are one family tree.
The Iliad tells that when Zeus carried his son Ganymede up to heaven, he sent divine horses in payment.
The horses received as the price of a lost son became heirlooms of the Trojan royal house — and later drew Heracles' expedition, which came for that very bloodline.
