The gentle west wind that brings the spring.
Of the four wind gods, he holds the west. Where the north wind Boreas is harsh, Zephyrus is mild.
The figure blowing wind at the left edge of Botticelli's Primavera and The Birth of Venus is Zephyrus.
The English word zephyr still means a soft breeze.
