Amphitrite
Ἀμφιτρίτη
The sea queen who fled from Poseidon — and came back.
A daughter of Nereus, she hid from Poseidon's courtship at the edge of the world, where Atlas stands.
A dolphin sent by Poseidon found her and won her over — and for that service, the dolphin became a constellation.
She bore the children of the sea, Triton among them.
