The man who tamed Pegasus and slew the Chimera.
With a golden bridle given by Athena he tamed Pegasus, and from the sky he hurled his spear and killed the Chimera.
He did not stop there — he spurred Pegasus upward, aiming for Olympus itself.
Zeus sent a single gadfly; Pegasus reared and threw him. Blinded by the fall, he wandered alone until he died.
