Chrysaor
Χρυσάωρ
The brother who sprang out beside Pegasus when Perseus cut off Medusa's head.
The instant Perseus' blade passed through Medusa's neck, two beings were born from it together: the winged horse Pegasus, and Chrysaor.
His name means "golden sword." He was born, Hesiod tells, with a golden sword in his hand.
His brother became a horse that flies the sky; he remained a single sword. With Callirhoe, daughter of Oceanus, he fathered the three-bodied Geryon.
