Nemean Lion
Λέων τῆς Νεμέας
A lion that no weapon could harm.
The first labor of Heracles. Neither arrow nor club could pierce its hide.
In the end he strangled it with his bare hands — and its hide could be skinned only by its own claws.
That is the lion skin Heracles wore for the rest of his life, and this lion is the constellation Leo.
