Pleione
Πληϊόνη
The Oceanid who bore Atlas the seven sisters, the Pleiades.
According to Apollodorus, she bore seven daughters to Atlas — the eldest, Maia, would become the mother of Hermes.
The daughters rose into the sky and became the Pleiades cluster.
Later, astronomers gave two stars in that cluster the parents' names. Pleione and Atlas still shine there today, beside their daughters.
