Apollo

Ἀπόλλων · Roman 아폴로 (Apollo)

God of light and order, holding both lyre and bow.

Son of Zeus and Leto, twin brother of Artemis. He is one of the rare gods whose name passed into Rome almost unchanged.

He is master of the oracle at Delphi, where the temple bore the inscriptions "Know thyself" and "Nothing in excess."

He is the god of healing — and also the god who shoots arrows of plague. The Iliad opens with him spreading pestilence through the Greek camp.
