Eurylochus

Husband of Odysseus's sister Ctimene, he was second-in-command of the fleet.

When the crew entered Circe's house, he alone stayed outside the door, watched his comrades turn into pigs, and ran back to raise the alarm. That one act of suspicion saved them all.

But on the island of Thrinacia, he urged the starving crew to slaughter the cattle of Helios. The sun god's wrath shattered the ship with a thunderbolt, and Odysseus alone survived.
