The son of Theseus who died for scorning Aphrodite.
He worshipped only Artemis and shunned love, and Aphrodite took it as an insult.
The goddess planted a passion for him in the heart of his stepmother Phaedra, and the catastrophe that followed engulfed him.
Cursed by his father, he died dragged behind his chariot when a bull rose from the sea and spooked his horses.
