Menoeceus
Μενοικεύς
Blood of the men born from dragon's teeth — the family behind both sides of the Oedipus tragedy.
A Theban, said to descend from the Spartoi, the men who sprang from the dragon's teeth Cadmus sowed.
In Sophocles' tragedy Creon is called "son of Menoeceus" throughout. His daughter Jocasta was Laius's wife, then became the wife of her own son Oedipus.
No story of his own survives, yet both pillars of the Theban tragedies came out of this one house.
