Thestius
Θέστιος
The Aetolian king whose daughters' children made the Trojan War and the tragedy of the boar hunt.
He was king of Aetolia, father of Leda and Althaea.
From Leda came Helen and Clytemnestra; from Althaea came Meleager.
The uncles Meleager killed in the quarrel over the boar hunt's spoils were the sons of Thestius. Enraged by their deaths, Althaea threw into the fire the log on which her son's life depended.
