The Muse who counts the stars.
Her name means "of the heavens" — the same word as Uranus, god of the sky.
She is depicted holding a globe and a compass — the only Muse whose instruments belong to science.
For the Greeks, astronomy was a single body of knowledge from the time before art and science had parted ways.
