Uranus

Οὐρανός · Roman 카일루스 (Caelus)

The sky born of Gaia. The first king to lose his throne to a son.

Uranus was the sky that covered Gaia, and he shoved each newborn child back into the earth to imprison them.

At the plea of Gaia, who could bear it no longer, the youngest son Cronus castrated his father with a sickle and seized the throne.

From the foam that rose where his flesh fell into the sea, Hesiod tells us, Aphrodite was born.
