Aeetes
Αἰήτης
The king of Colchis who guarded the Golden Fleece and was betrayed by his daughter. Son of the sun.
Son of Helios, brother of Circe and Pasiphae. Magic runs in this family.
As king of Colchis he set a sleepless dragon to guard the Golden Fleece.
He tasked Jason with plowing a field behind fire-breathing bulls and sowing dragon's teeth — but his daughter Medea chose the stranger over her father. He lost the fleece and the daughter in a single night.
