Pasiphaë
Πασιφάη
The queen of Crete who gave birth to the Minotaur.
Daughter of Helios, wife of Minos, and sister of the sorceress Circe.
When her husband broke his promise, Poseidon planted in her a love for the bull — the punishment was Minos's, but she bore the suffering.
She climbed inside the wooden cow Daedalus built, and so the Minotaur was born.
