The hundred-headed dragon coiled around the golden apple tree.
In the garden of the Hesperides, he wound around the tree and never once slept.
Two versions survive side by side: Heracles shot him dead with an arrow, or sent Atlas to fetch the apples and never fought him at all.
Hera raised him into the sky as the constellation Draco.
